Book Spotlight - The Acorn Tattoo

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Sometimes Neverland isn’t the place you go to stay young; it’s the place you leave to grow up.
Claire Baker is an orphan who has always been afraid to open her heart – that is, until she meets Jake Holland, the Boy with the Acorn Tattoo, who sweeps her off her feet with his ocean-timbered voice and sheepish Lost Boy grin. Consumed by their budding romance everything seems to be perfect for Claire, completely perfect —
– Except for Davie, Claire’s childhood friend who’s always held a corner of her heart – the dark, somber-eyed boy who has grown into a handsome, enigmatic man – and who has hooked himself so deeply inside of her she cannot escape him. When Davie professes his love in an unexpected burst of loosened passion, Claire finds herself torn between the two men: the one that’s stolen her heart and the one who’s held it all along.
Now, Claire must navigate through the purities and passions of love and accept the consequences of finally letting her heart take the lead.
Lost in Neverland, how does a girl choose between the Pan and the pirate?
SORM excerpt
A third pebble clinked against the glass and Claire hurried to the window. Standing directly below her second-story bedroom, painted in the dancing rays of disappearing sunlight like a watercolor silhouette, Jake looked up at Claire. Wearing his trademark charcoal-gray pea coat, Jake looked like a shadow set against fading colors of yellow, orange, and red in the dimming light. The ends of a red scarf blew out in the cool wind while pale tendrils of his sandy hair curled out beneath his aged leather newsboy cap. A glossy red leaf was tucked behind one ear, as though it were unwilling to fall to the ground. He arced long fingers over his eyes and looked up at Claire as she peered over the window, looking down at him. With a handful of pebbles still clasped in hand and his Lost Boy grin on his lips, Jake waved up at her from a ground sprinkled in the disheveled brilliance of fall.“Come out to play, Claire Darling?” Jake called. Claire grinned and bit her lip.“Is that you, boy?” she returned. The setting sun lit his blond hair in a halo around him. Jake laughed, a warm, rumbling sound, and tossed the handful of pebbles up in the air. He pulled his newsboy cap from his tangled hair, releasing the red leaf into flight as he tilted his head back and crowed.

SORM excerpt
Two teaser excerpts from Model Position (book one):
It’s his eyes that strike me most; they’re emerald green with a slight upward slant toward each cheekbone, as if he hiked all the way here from a northern land of sun and wind. He arranges himself on a leopard-skin rug, wearing only a suede thong, and glances around at us artists.
***
I’m getting turned on for real from stroking on the creamy paint and layering the second denser areas of muscle. It’s as if every stroke of paint on canvas is really a stroke on his warm flesh. When I hit my twenties, I was supposed to have a tidy love life with predictable hugs and predictable orgasms achieved only in a neatly made bed of thousand-count Egyptian cotton. Not a “near-climax” in a paint-spattered chair in a studio full of earnest, disorderly artists, and not just by thinking about my guy.
Two teaser excerpts from Private Internship (book two):
He locks his rich, hot-chocolate eyes on me, and studies my every curve and angle, seems to be piercing right through my skin into the alleys of my mind and heart. Curious, he’s so curious. I sense him asking where I’m from and why it took me so long to find him, and what kind of art I do, and whether I’ve ever sold it or gotten a review, or who I know, who I hang out with, and how much experience I’ve had in galleries, in school, in the world, in bed. My neck heats up. Did I just think that?
***
This is dangerous. He’s my boss. I’m committing professional suicide here. Caz runs scalding hot and icy-cold, he’s bound to turn on me. Is this what happened with Harper? She got too close and then . . . “Hey, I tagged you,” I whisper into his hair. “What do you intend to do about it?”
