D. Martin Laney Phantom of the Opera Garter Giveaway

Your wedding day is a special, once in a life time event. On this day, everything is all about you and the things that you love. Every aspect from the dress you wear to the table settings should tell your guests a little something about who you are. Your bridal garter shouldn't be any different. It has been a few years since I got married, but I wish I had known about D. Martin Lacey's beautiful garters for my big day.  They create custom garters that will fit your personal style and tell your guests about your personal passions. Choose from sports themes, military garters, super heroes, novelty ideas, or any other elaborate design you can think of.

When Rebecca from Phantom decides that its time to tie the knot, I know exactly which garter she'll be wearing. The Phantom of the Opera garter is a beautiful design that will show everyone what musical has your heart.  The garter has the classic phantom mask, as well as the titles of some of the most beautiful songs from the play. Like all the garters at D. Martin Lacey, it even comes with a second, less elaborate garter for you to toss after the ceremony. They are made to fit up to 24", but larger sizes can be requested.

To celebrate the release of Phantom, one lucky winner is going to receive a beautiful Phantom of the Opera garter. You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Please do not enter on both blogs. Entries will be merged and one winner will be chosen. Giveaway will end on 4/21/12 and is open  to the US only. Winners will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to D. Martin Lacey for offering this great prize.

Win a Custom Phantom Mini Book Charm Necklace Southwest Sky Jewelry

Etsy is like a giant virtual treasure chest. You just never know what amazing things you might find there. I have started out searching for basic odds and ends, and wound up finding things that exceeded even my writer's imagination. One of the things I often forget, is that Etsy isn't just for handmade items, but also for vintage collectibles. Or, as with Southwest Sky Jewelry, it can be a mixture of both. In this shop you will find tons of beautiful vintage southwestern style jewelry. Many of their pieces are made with real turquoise and sterling silver, and they are certainly a great addition to any collection.
 ,

In addition to the vintage jewelry, Southwest Sky Jewelry also creates their own custom story book jewelry. These pieces are handmade and are designed to look the covers of your favorite novels. They even have little pages! You can choose from classics novels, nursery rhymes, or just about any other book you can think of!  When I contacted them about the Phantom promo, I had been thinking of using their Phantom of the Opera charm. When they suggested that we could use my own novels instead, I almost jumped for joy. How cool to be able to wear my own cover around my neck! I loved the idea so much, I ordered one for Phantom and Destiny Unveiled! I think this is such a unique idea. Its a great way to let people know who your favorite authors are. And if you are a writer yourself, its a great way to promote your work.

To celebrate the release of Phantom, one lucky winner is going to receive one a custom Phantom necklace. You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Please do not enter on both blogs. Entries will be merged and one winner will be chosen. Giveaway will end on 4/16/12 and is open  to the US only. Winners will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to Southwest Sky Jewelry for offering this great prize.

Phantom is Now Available to Pre-Order!

Its official! Phantom has arrived! My newest YA novel is now available to pre-order.  You can order your copy direct from Pagan Writers Press and be among the first to get a copy. Copies should arrive in approximately two weeks.  And just in case you haven't seen the summary before, here is a short blurb about that this book about..

"The “Phantom” was a musical phenomenon that Rebecca had always found enchanting. She had no idea that her life was about to mirror the play that was her obsession. When her high school drama club chooses “Phantom” as their annual production, Rebecca finds herself in the middle of an unlikely love triangle and the target of a sadistic stalker who uses the lines from the play as their calling card.
Rebecca lands the lead role of Christine, the opera diva, and like her character, she is torn between her two co-stars—Tom the surfer and basketball star who plays the lovable hero, and Justyn, the strangely appealing Goth who is more than realistic in the role of the tortured artist.

Almost immediately after casting, strange things start to happen both on and off the stage. Curtains fall. Mirrors are shattered. People are hurt in true phantom style. They all seem like accidents until Rebecca receives notes and phone calls that hint at something more sinister. Is Justyn bringing to life the twisted character of the phantom? Or in real life are the roles of the hero and the villain reversed? Rebecca doesn’t know who to trust, but she knows she’s running out of time as she gets closer and closer to opening night. Only when the mask is stripped away, will the twenty first century phantom finally be revealed."

#Phantom is Coming! Win Phantom T-shirt from Art is Dumb

If you're an artist, whether its a writer, painter, dancer, actor or any of the other arts, its important to maintain a sense of humor and not take yourself too seriously. I think the owner of Art is Dumb had that concept in mind when he named his shop. You can tell by his amazing, detailed work, that he is a true artist. I think we all have those moment where we want to toss down our pen, throw our computer out the window, or dose our canvas in black paint so we can't see the work we aren't satisfied with. As frustrating moments like that, I sometimes think art is dumb, but then I get over it...Of course when I look at the work at Art is Dumb, DUMB is not the adjective that comes to mind--more appropriate D words would be deliciously demented or delightfully dark. From original paintings to sinister t-shirts, you can find some truly dynamite retro monster art at Art is Dumb.

One of the masterpieces available at Art is Dumb, is a especially gruesome rendition of the Phantom, based off the Lon Chaney classic film.  But you can also find Frankenstein's wife, Vincent Price, American Psycho and more. One of my favorites is the David Bowie design. I have always hoped he would play Richard if Destiny were every made into a movie.

To celebrate the release of Phantom, one lucky winner is going the Phantom t-shirt shown in the photo above in the size of their choice. You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Please do not enter on both blogs. Entries will be merged and one winner will be chosen. Giveaway will end on 4/10/12 and is open  to the US only. Winners will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to Art is Dumb for offering this great prize.

#Phantom is Coming! Win Phantom Hair Flowers from Little Shop of Horrors

I always put flowers and bows in my toddler's hair, but I never imagined I could find hair clips for an older generation. My tween daughter hasn't let me put a hair clip in her hair for years now, but when she saw the unique accessories at The Little Shop of Horrors, she realized she isn't too cool for hair bows after all. From classic monsters to Serial Killing Hello Kitty, there is something for people of all ages, especially those who love retro horror or have a punk style. If you are looking for something original to spice up your wardrobe, now would be a great time to make a purchase. The Little Shop of Horrors is offering free shipping now through the end on March on all orders of three or more pieces. Choose from funky flowers, bracelets, and earrings with your favorite characters.

Would you believe that the Little Shop of Horrors has not one, but two Phantom hair flowers! Both feature Lon Chaney as the Phantom, which is classic horror at its best. You can choose from red and black or yellow and black petals. I wonder what the other moms would think if I bring my toddler to the playground with the Phantom in her hair? Well, I'm already the eclectic mom on the block. I might as well live up to to that reputation :)

To celebrate the release of Phantom, one lucky winner is going to receive BOTH the Phantom hair flowers shown in the photos above.. You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Please do not enter on both blogs. #Phantom is Coming! Win a Matching Phantom Earings & Necklace Set from Elegant Curiosities

Whenever I run across an Etsy shop with the word "curiosities" in it, it automatically captures my attention. I guess that's because I am very curios by nature, as most writers are. Recently I came across a little shop called Elegant Curiosities by Laila Tas-Verseput, and this shop has definitely stolen my heart. They feature two of my all time favorite things. The Phantom of the Opera and Titanic.  No, I'm not talking about the Leonardo DiCaprio movie (though Leo is pretty yummy-LOL). I mean the real  cruise ship, and the real people who died there. I have been drawn to this tragic event all my life, and I also have a phobia of water, which sometimes makes me wonder if I wasn't of those third class passengers who went down on to the ship in  another lifetime. If so, I can reconnect with that past life with the beautiful titanic lockets, which contain within them an actual relic from the ship. You aren't going to find something as unique as this anywhere else.

That are lots of other items that suite my eclectic style available at Elegant Curiosities as well. The Victorian style Edgar Allen Poe necklaces are amazing. He has always been one of my favorite authors.  Plus there are lots of pieces that would be fitting for my Gothic characters in Phantom. These are just a few of the items I love.

But of course, my absolute favorite design is still the Phantom of the Opera pieces. There are actually nine different Phantom designs available at Elegant Curiosities, including bracelets, earrings, chokers, necklaces and more. All of them feature the mask and rose from Andrew Lloyd Weber's musical on either silver of bronze tone chains and backings. Some styles are simple, and some are more elaborate, but they all capture an old world charm worthy of the Phantom.

To celebrate the release of Phantom, Laila has created a beautiful Phantom necklace with matching earrings, just for this promotion (shown in the pictures above)! To enter, just complete the Rafflecopter form below. You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Please do not enter on both blogs. Entries will be merged and one winner will be chosen. Giveaway will end on 4/9/12 and is open  worldwide. Winners will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to Elegant Curiosities for offering this great prize.

Follow Me To Pagan Place and Win an Ostara Book of Shadows from Pagan Mart!

There are tons of different places to connect with people online, but I had a hard time finding one that was geared towards the pagan community. Its nice to mingle with all different types of people, but sometimes you like to "hang out" with people who share and understand your spiritual beliefs. I was actually searching online for some pagan fiction message boards to promote my books, when I stumbled upon Pagan Place. This website is kind of like a face book just for pagans. It offers the same type of online interaction between "friends", plus tons of message boards on topics from fiction to star gazing.   But in addition to just socializing, its the perfect place for pagans to promote their small business or pagan related events. Joining Pagan Place is completely free, as is advertising your products and services.

Pagan Mart is an online marketplace that is run in conjunction with Pagan Place. There you can find a wonderful monthly e-magazine called The Witches Hour, which is another great place to advertise and its chock full of interesting articles written by pagans for pagans.  They are always looking for new submissions from the pagan community. In addition to the magazine, they also sell complete spell books and spell pages for very reasonable prices. With every purchase, you earn points that you can use towards future orders. Whether you a beginner or long time practitioner, you can find exactly what you're looking for at Pagan Mart.
One lucky winner is doing to receive a e-book version of the 26 page Ostara Book of Shadows from Pagan Mart ($25.74 value). To enter, just complete the Rafflecopter form below. Giveaway will end on 4/8/12 and is open to the US only. Winners will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to for offering this great prize.

#Phantom is Coming! Win a Red Rose Ring from The Little Thistle Shop

If you are in the market for some new spring jewelry, then The Little Thistle shop is a wonderful place to start shopping. They have some really unique designs that will work with just about any style from Victorian cameo pendants to stretchy bead bracelets.  They are easy to dress up or dress down to give you just the right look for any occasion. If you are thinking about making a purchase, now would be the perfect time. They are currently celebrating their grand reopening, and you can get 10% off your order by entering the code REOPENSALE at checkout.

The item that caught my eye in this Etsy shop, is the beautiful "My Luv is Like a Red Red Rose" ring. The Victorian style cameo, coupled with the beautiful red rose design, immediately reminded me of the Phantom, because he was always leaving roses for Christine. In the movie version of Andrew Lloyd Weber's musical, he even leaves one at Christine's grave at the end of the film. However, this ring was inspired by a poem of the same name written by a Scottish poet named William Burns. The ring is made from sturdy resin and has a silver plated brass setting. The band is adjustable so one size will fit most.

To help celebrate the upcoming release of Phantom, one lucky winner is going to receive a beautiful My Luv's Like a Red Red Rose ring! To enter, just complete the Rafflecopter form below. You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Please do not enter on both blogs. Entries will be merged and one winner will be chosen. Giveaway will end on 4/6/12 and is open to the US only. Winners will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to The Little Thistle for offering this great prize.

#Phantom is Coming! Win Phantom Necklace from Miss Bohemia

Miss Bohemia is a shop that has made it their business to bring fairy tales to life with their unique handmade jewelry and accessories. You can find elegant Victorian style jewelry or beautifully designed trinket boxes to store all your favorite treasures.  Choose from brooches, bracelets, rings earrings and so much more. To view their complete collection, you can shop both in their Etsy shop or visit their website. If you are thinking about making a purchase, now would be a great time. In celebration of her birthday, the designer is having a fabulous sale. You can save 10% on all her beautiful bookmarks. Its the perfect way to mark your page in Phantom!

Speaking of phantoms,  Miss Bohemia has one of the most beautiful phantom accessories I have come across to date. The silver tone necklace features a large phantom mask accompanied by a pretty red rose. The rose and the mask are two of the most meaningful symbols in Phantom. The mask hides the Phantom's deformity, and if you've seen the musical, you'll know that he always leaves roses for Christine after a performance.  This statement piece is much larger than it first appears. The mask alone is 5.5cm. It would look great with both casual or formal attire. This fabulous piece is a must have for any Phantom fanatic.

To help celebrate the upcoming release of Phantom, one lucky winner is going to receive a beautiful Phantom of the Opera Mask Rose Necklace! To enter, just complete the Rafflecopter form below. You will be able to enter this giveaway at both the New Age Mama and Author Laura DeLuca blogs. You only need to enter ONCE. Please do not enter on both blogs. Entries will be merged and one winner will be chosen. Giveaway will end on 4/4/12 and is open worldwide. Winners will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to reply. Thanks again to The Miss Bohemia for offering this great prize.
